Announcement of DNSPod will be update at 18:00 on June 11, 2014 UTC+8

    Dear DNSPod users and developers,

Hello! We would like to tell you very, very exciting news that DNSPod is going to have the most important update at 18:00 on June 11, 2014 UTC+8.

After the update, we will provide you with more complete and perfect functions including but not limited to Domain Name Sharing, Domains Transfer, D-Monitor, D-Token, Multi-Accounts Login, etc.. At the same time, we will open well-documented API, involving accounts, domains, records and D-Monitor interfaces, which mean that developers can build a powerful Domain Name System based on your own demands.

Please note that after this update, service for API 1.0 will no longer be available and will not be compatible with the new API.

But you don’t need to worry about it because we now provide you with a testing environment:, and the APIs docs is: . If your account is registered before May 27, 2014, you can login with your account and password to join the test. All of the data under test environment will be just for testing and will not take effect on your real DNS, and all test data will be deleted after the final version comes online.

For ensuring the normal running of the programs built upon the old API, please update your codes in time. If you have any problem while developing or using it, please do not hesitate to contact us. In addition, this update will not affect your accounts, domains, records or any relevant data, or even your DNS resolution. Therefore, there is nothing for you to worry about. If you want to get the latest news, please follow our Twitter, Facebook or Blog.

We believe a great product is supported by great people, and DNSPod is no exception. Our user base is impassioned and dedicated to spreading use of DNSPod far and wide. Time flies, but the DNSPod is always stable and intelligent. Recently we have released the api 1.0 alpha version.

The developers should notice that the api is released for testing and the auth part may be modified in the future.

The api document is hosted on Readthedocs and the source is avaliable on github. It’s written by sphinx and you can generate html or pdf by your self easily or read it online. The api obeys the RESTful standard so it is easy to understand and convenient to use.

We welcome development of applications on different platforms and proposals of the api.

    Announcement of our website failure

We are sorry for the inconvenience we brought to you. Because of the server failure of the W2 Interactive, our website is temporarily unavaliable. The failure will not affect the DNS resolution.

The problem was happened at yesterday evening. The servers which we leased from W2 Interactive were suddenly unreachable. We do not even know why they did this. We get contact with almost every department of the W2 Interactive and asked for the reason but no one gave us response.

We are now still trying to communicate with the W2 Interactive and hope them to solve this problem for us as soon as possible. We are also finding other server providers to transmit our data and resuming our website as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding!

    • Wei 10:14 pm on April 11, 2011 Permalink

First, it is so complicated to change between different domains, 下拉菜单里直接选不同的域名就好了,或者左边直接把域名列出来,展开各个Label,这样就不用点一下在去选域名了。

    • cat 2:38 am on April 12, 2011 Permalink

You can switch domain with this, we even don’t know how to name it yet 🙂

      1. Click the text input with your current domain in it.
      2. Click your group and find you domain, default is your recently domains.
      3. You can also type domain in the box and press `Enter` directly.

      Quick switch domain

If you add CNAME and MX record at the same time, you will not receive any mail, which is DNS protocol requirements.
E-Mail system will not use you MX record at your domain, it will looking forward MX record of your CNAME domain.
URL record here also conflict with MX the same reason.

      May help 🙂

    • laurent 10:30 am on May 14, 2011 Permalink

      Yes, tx.
i did it. And now it work. 😉 my mail headers are clean. (Received-SPF: pass)

But when i run the test via : : it return the following message:

      > SPF records should also be published in DNS as type SPF records.
      > No type SPF records found.

      > Checking to see if there is a valid SPF record.

      > Results – Temporary Error DNS Timeout
      > Error with record of type SPF. TXT record not evaluated

That’s why I asked, if perhaps an SPF record would be better (widely supported). Anyway it work.
      Thank you.

They typically go in this format:

      v=spf1 ptr ?all

      v=spf1 ?all

with + being fail – soft fail ? neutral on the end.

    In DNSPod You Can Trust

2011-3-9 is the day that DNSPod international starts facing the users. And we can assure that in DNSPod you can trust.

DNSPod was founded in 2006. Thanks to the angel investments from NSFOCUS and some other organizations and individuals in 2009, we registered our own company in Shandong, China.

Up to now, DNSPod has 250,000 registered users, 320,000 domain names. Our servers handle more than 2.6 billion DNS request each day, it is the largest third party DNS service provider in China. Our customers include some well-known website in China such as VeryCD, PPS, Baofeng, 4399, 7k7k, Meizu and so on. It also includes a large number of universities and Government Web sites.

In DNSPod, Our primary goals are DNS security and qualified DNS services.

In 2010, we developed a set of DNS platform which includes: DNSPod Web, a friendly DNS management interface; DNSPod DNS Server which provides DNS services; DNSPod DNS Protector which protects against DNS attacks; DNSPod DNS Log Analytics which deals with the Log data; DNSPod DNS Queue System which provides the update queue of DNS data and DNSPod DNS Updater which is used for updating DNS servers data and so on.

It is the DNSPod DNS Server and DNSPod DNS Protector that we are mostly proud of.

DNSPod DNS Server is a DNS service product developed by our own research.

Contrasted with BIND or other traditional DNS server software, DNSPod DNS Server is outstandingly capable of providing 800,000 Q/ps on a PC Server. Besides, DNSPod DNS Server can protect against most DDOS attacks and other unknown attacks.

Except the brilliant functions that DNSPod DNS Server also supports that response to different servers’ IP through the region of the users'(GSLB).

DNSPod DNS Server is now providing a perfect service for DNSPod users.

DNSPod DNS Protector is another DNS service product developed by our own research. And it has the intellectual property. By DNSPod DNS Protector, we provide strong protection for DNS servers, it can defense known or unknown types of attacks against the DNS server, including DDOS, overflow, and so on. After our tests, DNSPod DNS Protector can provide more than 800,000 Q/ps attack prevention on a PC server in a single 1 Gigabit network adapter, if the server is upgraded to 4 Gigabit network adapter, it can provide 3.2 million Q/ps attack prevention. DNSPod DNS Protector is currently providing services for all DNSPod users, and it works well to against a large amount of DNS attacks.

Now, we are planning to develop the international market, and we sincerely hope that we can share our DNS research results with global users.
